devour cafe patisserie.

Yay! The new Devour Cafe & Patisserie is finally open.  I've been waiting for this for months now and was not disappointed when a friend and I came to try out their new lunch menu.  It's all the way down in Richmond (near South Road), quite the distance between its sister dessert bar in Prospect, but luckily for me it's close to my church which means....weekly visits?  Hmmm, my wallet won't like that much.

fooding through hong kong: one.

So it's actually been a while since I finished my internship in Hong Kong.  I have made it back in one piece, although slightly heavier than when I departed. Hehehe...there was just way too much good food in Hong Kong for me to not try!  So much that I've had to split my fooding into another two posts, otherwise it would just be mega long.

fooding through hong kong: chinese new year.

Happy Year of the Horse everybody! For me, the coming of Chinese New Year is really just another excuse to eat as much delicious food as possible. There's a few types of foods we Chinese prefer to eat during the festive season, some of which you'll see below. Ultimately, if the name of the food can be pun-ified into something which sounds prosperous or lucky, chances are it will be on the table.  Since I don't believe in the whole luck thing I just bask in the glory of all the yummy food and hope my metabolism holds up (it's slowly dying here...)

gin long canteen.

First of all, a very belated happy new year to everyone! Secondly, very very sorry for the lack of blogging over the last few weeks.  Exams and a short-term mission trip to the Philippines took up most of my time, and I'm leaving for Hong Kong in a few days! But no fear, there will be delicious updates now and again from the city that never sleeps.

On to Gin Long! After seeing its constant presence on Urbanspoon's hit list, it was hard for me not to come and see what all the fuss was about.  Funky and fusion were the first two words that came to mind - the interior is not your standard Asian round table and table cloth fare, and it has that new-to-town buzz.

mamachau.

Asian tacos? What? When a friend mentioned Mamachau and their concept, bells start ringing in my head.  Combine that with enticing photos from various social media outlets and Mamachau was the next must-try on my list.  Next to Obun Chef on the corner of King William Street and Pirie Street, it's not too hard to spot with its brightly lit-up sign and colourful outside seating.
